Welcome to the Nourish Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting sustainable development and empowering communities around the world. At Nourish, we believe in the power of nourishment – nourishing individuals, communities, and the planet for a better future.

Our Mission

At Nourish Foundation, our mission is aligned with the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development. We are committed to addressing key challenges facing our world today, including poverty, hunger, health, education, gender equality, and environmental sustainability. Through our programs and initiatives, we strive to create a positive impact on people’s lives and the planet.

Our Approach

We believe in a holistic approach to sustainable development, focusing on the interconnectedness of social, economic, and environmental issues. By working closely with local communities, governments, and partners, we aim to create long-lasting solutions that address root causes and promote resilience.

Our Programs

1. Food Security and Nutrition

We support initiatives that improve access to nutritious food, promote sustainable agriculture, and empower communities to become self-sufficient in food production.

2. Health and Well-being

We work to improve healthcare access, promote preventive health practices, and raise awareness about key health issues affecting communities.

3. Education and Skills Development

We invest in education programs that empower individuals with knowledge and skills to build a better future for themselves and their communities.

4. Gender Equality and Empowerment

We advocate for gender equality and support initiatives that empower women and girls to reach their full potential and contribute to sustainable development.

5. Environmental Sustainability

We promote sustainable practices that protect the environment, conserve natural resources, and mitigate the impacts of climate change.

Glass Jar Return & Recycling

In Partnership with Trash2Cash Sri Lanka

As part of our cradle-to-cradle philosophy, the Nourish Foundation promotes a structured glass jar return initiative in collaboration with Trash2Cash Sri Lanka, an innovative circular economy platform that converts recyclable waste into value.

Customers are encouraged to return Nourish glass jars through designated collection points and Trash2Cash smart recycling machines, ensuring packaging materials are responsibly reused and kept out of landfills.

This initiative helps:
• Reduce packaging waste and environmental pollution
• Encourage responsible consumption and recycling behavior
• Support Sri Lanka’s circular economy ecosystem
• Engage the Nourish community in practical sustainability actions

Through this program, everyday consumption becomes an opportunity for environmental stewardship.

Reward-Based Recycling Through Trash2Cash

The Trash2Cash mobile application enables users to deposit recyclable materials, earn reward points, and track their environmental impact.

Participants can:
• Deposit recyclable materials at smart recycling bins or through collection services
• Receive reward credits via SMS or mobile application
• Redeem points for mobile reloads, bill payments, or partner benefits
• Monitor recycling history and contribution to waste reduction

By making recycling rewarding and accessible, the initiative encourages long-term behavior change toward responsible waste management.

Animal Welfare Support

Partnership with Animal Welfare and Protection Association Sri Lanka (AWPA)

Alongside environmental sustainability, the Nourish Foundation supports the Animal Welfare and Protection Association Sri Lanka (AWPA) — a respected organization dedicated to rescuing and caring for vulnerable animals.

Through this partnership, the foundation provides consistent support while encouraging children and families to develop empathy, compassion, and emotional awareness.

Weekly Yogurt Donations

The Nourish Foundation contributes weekly yogurt donations to AWPA to support nutritional recovery and wellbeing of rescued animals.

This initiative:
• Improves nutritional support for rescued and recovering animals
• Assists weak and medically treated animals
• Provides consistent nourishment alongside shelter care
• Strengthens compassionate, long-term partnerships

Nourish Poya Paws & Kindness

Small paws. Gentle hearts. Meaningful kindness.

Each month, the foundation conducts compassionate visits to AWPA through the Nourish Poya Paws & Kindness program.

During these visits:
• Nourishing meals are shared with animals
• Two to three Nourish customer families participate
• Children engage in gentle, supervised interaction with animals
• Participants experience gratitude, empathy, and mindful giving

This initiative transforms charitable support into meaningful family experiences that nurture lifelong compassion.

Alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The Nourish Foundation is committed to creating meaningful impact through initiatives that align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Our sustainability and compassion programs support SDG 12 — Responsible Consumption and Production through circular packaging and recycling partnerships, SDG 15 — Life on Land by promoting animal welfare and humane care, and SDG 3 — Good Health and Well-Being through nourishment-based community initiatives. Additionally, our environmental awareness efforts contribute to SDG 13 — Climate Action, while collaborations with organizations and community participants reflect SDG 17 — Partnerships for the Goals. Through these integrated efforts, the foundation strives to nurture a future where responsible living, environmental protection, and compassion for all living beings grow together
